旋律金属核（Melodic Metalcore）是金属核（Metalcore）的一个子流派，起源于20世纪90年代末，当时一些金属核乐队开始将旋律死亡金属（ Melodic Death Metal）的元素注入他们的声音中，从而创造出一种更具金属感和旋律性的风格。
20世纪90年代末，Shadows Fall、Undying等乐队开创了这一流派。这些乐队将当时的金属核风格与旋律死亡金属的各种元素相结合，包括旋律性的Riff、Blast Beat以及旋律式的尖叫和咆哮。这种风格因Killswitch Engage的成功而成为主流，并在2000年代初为Atreyu、As I Lay Dying、God Forbid、Avenged Sevenfold等乐队铺平了道路。随着时间的推移，旋律金属核继续流行，All That Remains、Trivium、Bullet for My Valentine等乐队为这一音乐流派带来了更加注重旋律的声音。
2000年代后期，随着主流金属核听众转向其他风格，旋律金属核的人气逐渐减弱。一些较新的乐队，如Miss May I和Parkway Drive，在这一流派中取得了成功，但许多乐队也过渡到了不同的风格，许多较老的旋律金属核乐队转而制作重金属（ Heavy Metal，即NWOAHM运动）和另类金属（ Alternative Metal，即Melodic Groove Metal），而许多较新的旋律金属核乐队又过渡回了普通的金属核。
