A.K.A. Electro Grime、Commercial Grime
Electro-Grime（或如Wiley所称的“Commercial Grime”）是记者们对2000年代末期Grime相对停滞时短暂出现的糟糕发展阶段的称谓。当时Grime艺人纷纷抛弃传统风格，转而追逐受 Electro House影响的商业化声效。Electro House在排行榜上风头正劲，这便成了Grime说唱歌手首次尝试淡化音乐特色、进军主流榜单的尝试。这便是人们常说的“流行阶段”，涉及Wiley、Skepta、Tinchy Stryder、Dizzee Rascal、Chip、Tinie Tempah等艺人。
该术语实为媒体对制作电子化音乐风格的Grime艺人的描述，而非独立音乐流派。其作品与Grime本源相去甚远。更准确的称谓应是“流行说唱”（ Pop Rap）、“电子说唱”（Electro Hop）或类似概念。
2008年，Wiley与制作人Bless Beats合作的《Wearing My Rolex》被视为该浪潮的开端。随后Skepta的《Rolex Sweep》引发短暂的热潮，并获得Coldplay乐队的翻唱。
