新世纪音乐（New Age）是一种以平和、冥想性旋律为主的音乐类型，旨在为听众带来放松、冥想或乐观的情绪。该类型音乐可呈现多种形式：电子（ Electronic）化的新世纪音乐采用柔和的合成器音色、悠长的持续音符及简洁的鼓点，而原声新世纪音乐则通过长笛、钢琴、吉他等乐器营造宁静氛围（尽管有时这些原声乐器也会采用数字化版本）。Mike Oldfield、Enigma、Popol Vuh、Vangelis是该类型中最具代表性的音乐家。

部分音乐家甚至将特定类型的民谣音乐（Folk）融入自身创作，形成独特风格，例如Enya和Clannad将新世纪音乐与凯尔特民谣（ Celtic Folk）融合，创造出凯尔特新世纪（Celtic New Age），而Cusco和Medwyn Goodall则受南美洲文化影响，形成了安第斯新世纪（Andean New Age）。
