技术死亡金属（Technical Death Metal）是死亡金属（Death Metal）的一个子流派，特别注重具有挑战性的、高要求的歌曲创作和器乐技巧，始于20世纪90年代初至中期，并在Death、Atheist、Nocturnus、Pestilence等乐队中得到发展。
这一流派的显著特点包括：变化多端的歌曲结构、复杂且非典型的节奏结构、大量使用减和弦和琶音、频繁使用奇数节拍和弦行进以及大量的跳弦。这些音乐通常节奏极快，其代表乐队由于对节奏的沉重感和概念上的黑暗性的执着追求，仍然牢牢扎根于死亡金属。不过，与死亡金属及其他子流派相比，除了上述特点外，技术死亡金属乐队通常会经常使用更为奇特的音阶，给人一种与众不同的感觉。Bassline通常比较复杂，鼓点节奏极快，大量使用Blast Beat和其他极端鼓点技巧。
