A.K.A. Frankfurt Scene、Frankfurt Trance
法兰克福之声/法兰克福场景（Frankfurt Sound）于80年代中期成形，融合了合成器流行（Synthpop）与 EBM的元素。Andreas Tomalla（艺名Talla 2XLC）作为众多法兰克福唱片公司的制作人及经理人，对法兰克福之声在全国范围内的认可起到了关键作用，尽管其中部分唱片公司寿命短暂。
如果Berlin Techno场景与底特律的根源密切相关，那么法兰克福场景则与比利时电子音乐场景有着联系，并受到了EBM和新节拍（ New Beat）的巨大影响。到1990年，所有这些元素混合在一起，产生了一种短暂的风格，当时被称为Techno-Trance。
1991年，著名DJ Sven Väth创立了传奇厂牌Eye-Q Records，专注于当时新兴的Trance音乐类型。次年，Sven Väth又创立了Harthouse厂牌，专门发行“更硬核”的曲目。时至今日，这两个厂牌发行的曲目或许是Classic Trance的最佳代表。
