Psybient是一种源自1990年代中期的氛围音乐（Ambient）/Chillout音乐形式，其发展源于 Psytrance和Goa Trance音乐家创作节奏较慢、氛围感更强的曲目，强调氛围而非节奏。该流派在氛围音乐的基础上运用了Psytrance的催眠、超现实和渐进的氛围，并常与 Downtempo的轻松节奏相结合。Twisted和Ultimae Records等唱片公司帮助定义了Psybient超越其Psytrance根源的独特风格，其中包括Shpongle、Carbon Based Lifeforms、Younger Brother等知名团体。

Psybient与Dub（最常见的是 Ambient Dub）融合的例子被称为“Psydub”。
