Dancecore与Mashcore同样高度依赖采样技术，尤其擅长从流行乐（ Pop）与舞曲（Dance）中提取素材，同时融合俏皮旋律、强劲Kick及典型的碎核（ Breakcore）式碎拍节奏。该流派常受硬核（Hardcore [EDM]）影响，采用4 on the floor的Gabber风格节奏，整体氛围较其他碎核风格更显轻快诙谐。
2009年，Annoying Ringtone创立英国网络厂牌Dance Corps并发行首张合辑《Dance Corps Volume One》。该厂牌主要发行此类音乐，并特别命名为Dancecore以彰显其多年的运营历史。后来Mashcore概念逐渐普及，其采样范围超越流行舞曲范畴，并被其他音乐厂牌广泛采用。2019年Dancecore迎来了十周年的复兴，厂牌推出《Dance Corps 6 - A Decade of Dancecore》纪念专辑；2021年Favicon厂牌亦以《Favicon Vol. 2: This Is Dancecore!》致敬前辈厂牌的音乐风格。
