乡村福音音乐（Country Gospel）是一种融入福音音乐（Gospel）和声、主题等影响的传统乡村（ Traditional Country）风格，可以追溯到乡村音乐诞生之初。The Carter Family是乡村音乐的开创者，也是乡村福音音乐的开创者。乡村福音音乐最初是其他传统乡村音乐流派的一个“附属物”，与当时流行的其他流派交织在一起，到30年代开始自成一体，然后向其他形式的乡村音乐（ Honky Tonk等）转变，最终进入了乡村福音音乐的黄金时代。

20世纪40年代，随着蓝草音乐（Bluegrass）的兴起，一种融合了蓝草和福音的子流派“蓝草福音（ Bluegrass Gospel）”也随之出现，The Stanley Brothers、Bill Monroe等是代表人物。
