南方金属（Southern Metal）是金属乐（Metal）的一个子流派，主要源于泥浆金属（ Sludge Metal）和石人金属（Stoner Metal）。该流派融合了受蓝调（ Blues）影响的金属Riff，风格类似于南方摇滚（Southern Rock）。该流派兴起于20世纪90年代，乐队包括Down、Alabama Thunderpussy、Black Label Society。Pantera的南方美学也启发了Texas Hippie Coalition和The Sign of the Southern Cross等乐队加入律动金属（Groove Metal）元素。“南方”一词并不意味着这一流派的音乐家必须居住在美国南部，但其实历史上许多乐队确实来自南方，或至少保留了这种氛围。
