A.K.A. "Scene" Metalcore
主流金属核（Mainstream Metalcore）主要用来形容在2006年至2014年间于Scene亚文化中流行起来的金属核（ Metalcore）。在前几年，旋律金属核（Melodic Metalcore）是人气最高的金属核子流派。到2006年，新的金属核乐队开始淡化旋律死亡金属（ Melodic Death Metal）的影响，用合成器、Autotune、Trance元素等来增添色彩，此外几乎每首歌曲都会使用咆哮人声、情绪（ Emo）化的副歌、震撼人心的Breakdown的公式。到2010年代初，主流金属核的进一步演变促进了新金属核（Nu Metalcore）和前卫金属核（ Progressive Metalcore）的出现，主流金属核与电子核（Electronicore）也有一些不可避免的重合。
