霍博肯之声（Hoboken Sound）是20世纪80年代中期出现的一个术语，用来描述美国学院摇滚（College Rock）场景最热闹的地方之一——新泽西州霍博肯的音乐。Hoboken Sound的音乐根植于车库摇滚（Garage Rock）、车库朋克（ Garage Punk）和后朋克（Post-Punk），但又有流行音乐（ Pop）的感觉，汲取了力量流行（Power Pop）中的歌曲创作、吉他音色和新浪潮（ New Wave）音乐的键盘乐器等相关元素。Hoboken Sound对美国东北部和南部的噪响流行（Jangle Pop）乐队的发展产生了巨大影响。
全美各地的学院摇滚乐队都会来麦克斯韦尔演出，但真正的明星是本土乐队，如The Feelies、The Individuals、The Bongos等本土乐队；The dB's乐队的创作型歌手Chris Stamey，他大部分时间都在霍博肯及其周边地区度过；以及后来的Yo La Tengo、Rage to Live等乐队，他们将霍博肯的声音推向了20世纪90年代，所以这一流派也是学院摇滚逐渐演变为独立摇滚（ 80's Indie Rock）的重要场景之一。
